Google says it has hit the new milestone for applications available for Android. By comparison, Microsoft has 120,000. Bloomberg first reported Google’s milestone, saying that means Google has matched Apple in the number of games, productivity tools and other programs that are usable on handheld electronics, including tablets and smartphones. Apple said last week that its App Store has more than 700,000 apps.
By comparison, The Windows Store now has 120,000 apps, according to Windows Phone Program Manager Joe Belfiore, who officially launched the Windows Phone 8 last month in San Francisco. Out of the 50 top smartphone apps, 46 are now on the Windows Phone, he added.
